We continue this year devoted to obtaining new socially significant skills to apply in the world that surrounds us both on campus and off. Our Applied Behavior Analysis classroom setting give us the opportunity to learn through evidence- based practices. Socially, behaviorally and academically, we continue to focus on learning and exploring functional and academic life skills that align with the general education curriculum. The students will focus on positive behavior supports and functional communication to increase desired outcomes, self determination, self advocacy, self confidence and life skills in our transition through high school to post-secondary living. We have completed many Community Based Instruction's the first semester and will continue this the second semester (Tiger H20, Tiger Cafe, ect).
I am an advocate for student independence and growth in a fun and creative environment. I believe a positive attitude, motivation and a passionate heart will accomplish the greatest things. I enjoy the pleasure of learning from my students and assisting them in accomplishing their goals while they grow as individuals from high school to adulthood.
I continue this year working to obtain a Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board though supervision from current BCBA supervisors. I received my Masters in Special Education with a Behavior Analysis emphasis from Texas A&M University in 2016. I also have a Bachelors in Psychology from Brandman University and Associates of Applied Science in Mental Health/Social Work from Central Texas College. Prior to working at RISD, I was an Applied Behavior Analysis Therapist at and Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorder's Center at Fort Hood, Tx.
